I received the package on Wednesday. It is absolutely stunning. I received the gauges today. Best XXX bucks i've spent in a long time. They look great. The following is for the benefit of partskeepers and mechanics engaged in service work The principle on which these instruments operate is as follows
John found himself a new SS dash for his LH, it was a bit Grotty so he thought he would strip it down and give it a clean, unfortunately it didn't all do to plan, and this one is fairly rare as they only made this first generation with Miles and Kilometers for 2 months. John Contacted me and asked if I could tackle the job for him - No worries at all. This cluster looked like it has sat in a really wet rusty car for a LONG time, and then dropped into a bucket of WD To the point that the some of the nuts on the quad gauges has locked solid on the steel threads- to get it apart I had to hand file the threads on the studs- a couple hours of fun right there. Once I had finished dismantling the cluster I stripped all the gauges and washed everything in a light degreaser- then I put all the case and plastics aside to dry and blew the gauges dry, luckily the tacho movement survived really well.
